‘Stella’ Story Concept and Design

“Stella and the Stone Illness” is a story concept I developed for a graphic design course at Kyoto University of the Arts. The project explores the theme of movement through the perspective of “moving the heart with stories”. Ultimately the story itself is about a person suffering from inability to move and concludes with a miracle to regaining mobility.

During this course I created various prototypes to figure out a way to breathe life into a static poster. The final version features a butterfly printed on clear plastic and attached separately to the poster so it would appear to be moving. A promotion site was designed and created to further introduce the story, for which I created storyboard-style illustrations.
